Got an innovative commercial, agritech or food chain idea? Call for funding applications.

The Knowledge Transfer Network and Innovate UK have announced two funding opportunities which may be relevant to forward-thinking farm businesses in the Yorkshire region.

Firstly, there is Smart funding, with up to £25 million available for the best “game-changing, innovative or disruptive ideas with a view to commercialisation.”

All proposals must be business-focused rather than pure research and applications can come from any area of technology, science or engineering.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has identified four key areas of Grand Challenges – AI and data, ageing society, clean growth and the future of mobility – and applications may overlap with these or focus on an entirely different area.

More information, including eligibility and how to apply, is available here and the deadline for applications is 24th July 2019.
